JTF Kills 40 Boko Haram Insurgents In Borno Operations

The terrorists, whose number was unknown, had attempted coordinated and simultaneous attacks on Bama, Gwoza and Pulka towns in Borno State on Sunday night but soldiers of 7 Division in anticipation, however, successfully repelled all the attacks, killing 40 sect members in the three locations while several others escaped with gunshot wounds.
This was disclosed in a press statement signed y the JTF acting spokesman Captain Aliyu Ibrahim Danja and made available to newsmen in Maiduguri yesterday.
During the encounter, soldiers also destroyed a pick-up vehicle loaded with Improvised Explosive Devices (IEDs) meant for destruction of Bama town.
In another operation by the Nigerian Air Force in collaboration with ground troops, Boko Haram elements and their assets were successfully neutralized at Kilani General Area.
The Eid-el Kabir prayers were conducted safely by the Muslim faithful in Borno State amidst tight security provided by the division. The General Officer Commanding 7 Division, Nigerian Army, Maj.- Gen. ObidahTahau Ethan, felicitated with Muslim faithful in Borno State to continue to pray for peaceful coexistence in the state and the country in general.
