A man allegedly opened fire in a Las Vegas nightclub after being denied a refund, killing a patron who tried to intervene, police say.
A security guard and a manager Drai's After Hours, a club at Bally's Hotel-Casino were injured and taken to hospital, police Sgt John Sheahan said.
The shooting happened at the club on the Las Vegas Strip shortly before 06:00 local time (13:00 GMT).
The suspect is also in hospital with unspecified injuries.
Police believe he acted alone.
"The person is in custody," Sgt Sheahan said. "The weapon is in custody."
Officials said the suspect paid an unspecified cover charge to enter Drai's then demanded his money back before shooting a manager.
The gunman was then subdued by patrons, one of whom was killed in the struggle. Another security guard was injured.
Although violent crime in Las Vegas fell by 13% last year, and was down 11% for the first part of 2013, a recent rash of incidents has hit the headlines.
A deadly shooting and car chase on the Strip in February killed three.
A murder trial in that case, with the defendant facing the death penalty, is scheduled to begin in December.
